Digging through boxes of ephemera and recreating logos and word marks by hand? Sign me up! I was given the opportunity to source forgotten and otherwise undocumented marks from decades old photographs in the University of Virginia’s archives to create a new licensing sheet as well as brand the Virginia Vintage Collection. Final deliverables included marketing materials such as hang tags, print and digital ads, social campaigns and retail displays.
This project was extremely important, not only as a new product revenue stream, but to create a portfolio of marks and their documented usage as property of the University of Virginia. Prior to creating this licensing sheet, no such comprehensive record existed rendering brand enforcement difficult. A major bonus was that these marks rapidly became one of the highest grossing components of the licensing portfolio.
Role: Research and source collection, redrawing marks, marketing materials, production file preparation.
